Let Curiosity Grow
Our Campus
At Sequoia Academy, children learn and grow in a warm, nature-inspired setting where every corner sparks curiosity and discovery. Surrounded by lush gardens and changing seasons, they explore the world through immersive bilingual learning and project-based activities. Here, children learn to think independently, work together creatively, and enjoy the joy of growing up in harmony with nature.
Our Philosophy
In a world shaped by AI and cultural diversity, we understand the evolving needs of tomorrow’s society. Our mission is to support families through every stage of their child’s development.
At Sequoia, we believe:
Our Principles
- effective education is calm and pressure-free.
- teaching is about drawing out a child’s potential, not simply pouring in knowledge.
- mistakes are opportunities to learn.
- it is essential to balance kindness and firmness.
- it is our mission to give young families peace of mind and heartfelt support.
We draw from:
Our Philosophy and Methods
- Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences theory
- China’s Guidelines for Learning and Development of Children Aged 3-6
- Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology
- A blend of Montessori and Reggio Emilia practices, enhanced with immersive language instruction to foster communication and teamwork skills
A Teaching Model Focused on Real-Life Skills
In a fully enrolled class, we provide three dedicated teachers and one care assistant. Children also enjoy half a day of English instruction daily, and have access to specialist teachers for art, basketball, and jump rope. Our teacher-to-student ratio across the school averages an impressive 3.7:1.
。
We prepare children for an unpredictable future shaped by global change and artificial intelligence. That’s why our curriculum focuses on six core skill areas. Our research team studies educational trends all the way from preschool to high school, and integrates this insight into a complete teaching system.
Our curriculum includes three main areas: Project-Based Learning,Immersive English, and Enrichment Courses. Each is taught by dedicated instructors with a structured plan aligned with national learning guidelines, 58 developmental benchmarks, and KET (Key English Test) proficiency milestones.
We regularly assess each child’s progress in a holistic way—tracking their skills, learning styles, and interests through both daily observation and targeted evaluations. These insights guide our individualized learning and development plans.
Project-Based Learning (PBL)
Our Approach
Children help select one or two inquiry topics each semester. Through researching, testing, problem-solving, and presenting, they gain knowledge, build skills, and even create social impact.

Immersive Bilingual Environment
Our Language Program
We use the Macmillan curriculum, weaving English naturally into daily life and project work. Children practice all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—throughout the day, developing cultural awareness and communication fluency.
Enrichment Courses
Our Talent Programs
Beyond core academics and English, children explore STEM, early elementary readiness, basketball, jump rope, visual arts, and Chinese cultural heritage. These are taught by expert instructors in each field.

Daily Personal Care
Dressing Assistance
For younger children still learning to button or zip, teachers gently help while encouraging growing independence.
Mealtime Support
Younger children may need a helping hand during meals—and sometimes a spoon that turns into a little airplane makes food extra delicious!
Safe Sleep Checks
During nap time, teachers check on children’s temperature, posture, and breathing regularly to ensure restful, safe sleep.
Nap Time
Teachers act as “temperature guardians,” making sure every little one stays warm and cozy during naps, especially when they kick off their blanket.
Handwashing
We teach the 7-step handwashing technique as part of our daily routine. Soft disposable towels help dry every tiny finger thoroughly.
Toilet Training Support
We use child-sized toilets and help younger kids clean up. For older ones, we guide them in checking and improving their hygiene after using the restroom.
Rainy Day
If clothing gets wet, we dry it with a hair dryer to keep kids comfortable and clean.
After-Meal Cleanliness
After eating, we help children clean their mouths and faces so they stay fresh all day.
Insect Protection
Each class uses Murphy’s Naturals mosquito repellent and bite relief balm. We also grow mosquito-repelling plants indoors and outside.
